Divine Feminine Power for Healing & Spiritual Awakening

Critical of Your Looks? Here’s a Spiritual Practice for That

If you’re like most women, chances are a negative voice starts in the minute you look in a mirror –– or any time you think about your appearance. It’s been shown that even the most gorgeous models are insecure about something having to do with their looks. Ladies, let’s stop letting the media and all of the negative programming “kill us softly” on this count. Just think how much of our energy the “beauty myth” has sucked out of our souls over our lifetime. Let’s face it, even the most self-confident among us are susceptible. And it only intensifies as we get older. When I went up to Ring Mountain in Tiburon last fall, I sat in meditation at one of the magnificent rock formations there. I asked, “How might I love myself more?” The answer was something I would not have thought of myself.

I was reminded of Aphrodite’s “girdle”––the decorative belt that the Goddess of Love would wear around her belly. Any female who put it on would be irresistibly attractive to her lover. I was told to do the following, which I now share with you.

The “Aphrodite’s Girdle” Practice

• Imagine yourself putting Aphrodite’s girdle around your own belly. You may even want to create or buy a beautiful belt for this purpose.

• Now look at yourself in the mirror, and see yourself under the magical spell of Aphrodite’s girdle: as completely lovely. All of those features, freckles, wrinkles, puffiness, sags, bulges, and other “imperfections” that you have cringed over… See them as incredibly cute or as signs of your unique beauty, just as you’d love your lover to see you. Unconditionally. Resist the temptation to feel badly.

• Commit to doing this practice for one month any time you catch your reflection in a mirror, window pane, pond, or other shiny surface. This includes when you’re tired, sick, in your sweats, without makeup –– whenever & wherever.

• Expand the practice into loving your body parts and your inner soul anytime you think of them.

• Consider making this a permanent practice.

• Observe the difference this begins to make in your life. Be astute!

Spiritual Support Is SO Important

The “beauty issue” is just one example of why as women we need to cultivate a spiritual life and find spiritual supports. It can be challenging to stay self-loving, generous, intuitive, spiritual & creative in our workaday, 3-D world, with tons of energies hitting us from all sides.

We all need stimulation, inspiration, tooling, healing –– and COMMUNITY. This is why I held the Nourish Your Heart event on Jan 26, where I shared the Aphrodite’s girdle exercise.
