My UK Magical Mystery Tour

A Journey Through Karma, Mystery, Sacred Service & the Majesty of Glastonbury

My experiences in the UK have been filled with… well, we might call it Shakespearean drama.

Karmic romances. Past-life memories. Extraordinary opportunities. Elation and heartbreak. Fairy awakenings. Real-life betrayals. Moments when my work was deeply honored, and others when it was regarded with suspicion. And even experiences of emotional and psychic danger that, thankfully, I managed to recognize and step away from.

And no, I’m not exaggerating. In fact, maybe I should have already written a book… or at least some compelling social media posts… on these tumultuous adventures.

For whatever reason, the lands of Britain and Ireland seem to hold some very old threads for me.

Over the years, memories and intuitions have surfaced of connections with Guinevere and Arthur, and of a lifetime as a Benedictine nun associated with Canterbury Cathedral.

I have wept bitter tears before the Black Madonna in the crypt of that cathedral. I have wandered through sacred hills of Ireland through the graces of my sister priestess Zoë Daly, and Scotland through the generosity of my dear friend Laura Shannon. My colleague Angela Voss has opened doors for me in Canterbury. And I will always remember my late friend Caroline Smart, who so lovingly welcomed me overnight whenever I first arrived in England.

These lands have given me friendship, beauty, mystery ~ and some formidable initiations.

They have also been important places of teaching and service for me.

In London, I have presented my research on divine birth and cannabis-imbibing priestesses of ancient Greece to rooms of skeptical radical political women ~ quite an initiation in itself! At Canterbury Christ Church University, where I helped co-create the MA in Myth, Cosmology, and the Sacred, I taught and presented on these mysteries as well as on the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades.

In Glastonbury, I have had the privilege of bringing these and expanded teachings into the Goddess Temple and other sacred spaces, offering workshops on the Pleiades, Divine Feminine mysteries, Aphrodite, sacred sexuality, and more.

So my relationship with the UK has never been simply personal. Again and again, these lands have asked me to bring forward parts of my work that live at the edges of conventional thought ~ to speak what I have come to know, sometimes in welcoming environments and sometimes in decidedly more challenging ones.

And then there is Glastonbury.

I have visited twice before, and each journey has opened another doorway. There is something about the Tor rising above the Somerset countryside, the sacred wells, the old stories of Avalon, the green hills and winding lanes that makes the boundary between worlds seem unusually thin.

On my first visit, Priestess Graelynn Corsini initiated me back into what I experienced as my fairy lineage ~ one extraordinary day in a landscape where such a thing somehow did not seem strange at all.

Perhaps this is part of the deeper magic of pilgrimage. We don’t simply visit a sacred place. Sometimes the place visits us. It finds the unfinished stories, the forgotten gifts, the griefs, the promises, and the pieces of ourselves waiting to be reclaimed.

And sometimes it brings our karma right to the front door.

I have certainly had my share of romantic drama connected with the UK ~ enough, perhaps, for a Shakespeare tragedy… or, would it be comedy… of my own! Yet with the distance of time, I can see these experiences differently. What once felt like a bewildering tangle of attraction, past-life recognition, longing, and pain has become part of a larger clearing and resolution.

This August, I return to Glastonbury on what feels like a new rung of the spiral.

I want to arrive clear, open, grounded, and in integrity. Not seeking to repeat an old story, but curious about what becomes possible when we meet an ancient landscape as the person we are now.

And once again, I return in service ~ but carrying a new octave of the work.

At the end of the month, I will be speaking at the Portal to Ascension Conference in Glastonbury on The Seven Sisters & the Harmonic Star Human: Pleiadian Keys for Earth’s Evolution ~ offering teachings close to my heart about the Pleiades, humanity’s multidimensional nature, and the possibilities emerging for us as we remember ourselves as conscious participants in a living cosmos.

I’ll also be sharing the gathering with some remarkable people. I’m especially delighted that my colleague Laura Eisenhower will be there, and I hope finally to meet Magenta Pixie ~ two women I regard as profound contemporary oracular voices.

And all of this will be unfolding during the powerful August eclipse cycle.

Perhaps that is why this journey already feels less like a simple conference trip and more like another pilgrimage ~ one in which old threads may be completed and entirely new ones woven.

By the way… if you have ever felt Glastonbury calling you, this may be a particularly beautiful moment to answer.

The conference itself offers a rare convergence of teachers, researchers, experiencers, mystics, and seekers exploring humanity’s multidimensional story. There are also pre- and post-conference journeys being offered, creating an opportunity to experience the sacred landscape itself rather than simply sitting in a conference hall talking about it.

I have heard from some of you that you’ll be joining us, and I’d be delighted to have more of our Seven Sisters community there with me. (If you come, please introduce yourself even if I’ve seen you on Zoom scores of times… I rarely translate computer screen faces into real life flesh and blood reality without prompting!)

Maybe the real magical mystery tour is not about escaping ordinary life for someplace enchanted. Maybe it’s about entering places that help us remember that life itself is enchanted ~ and returning home able to see it again.

Your story and initiations truly resonate, Marguerite. And they are beautifully inspiring. Glastonbury is indeed a soul catalyzing sacred place, isn’t it?!

In the Mary priestess training and IST, you have heard me speak briefly of my own Glastonbury/Avalon initiations and how many initiations across lifetimes got translated into my novels about the Goddess of the Stars and the Sea and her priestesses in Avalon.

When I briefly lived there in the 1990’s, there was a local saying about how if someone stayed in Glastonbury for more than a few days, they were inevitably drawn into the Glastonbury ‘blues’ – underworld, deep transformational initiations. So true!

I also relate to your mentioning heartbreak. I had one of the most painful romantic heartbreaks of my life with a man I met on the Tor (as I was searching for the Burr Stone, the supposed physical entrance to the underworld!). To this day, I would swear he was one of the Sidhe. But then, to beautifully balance that, a few years later, I met the man I was to eventually marry when we became housemates in “Top Spot” – the name of the last house in Wearyall Hill leading to Joseph of Arimathea’s legendary thorn tree. Another sacred spot.

So I hear you, and I relate. It would be lovely to share Glastonbury stories, sipping a cup of tea, sitting beside a sacred hearth!

May this month’s pilgrimage return to Glastonbury bless you with more gentle remembrances, embrace you with loving audiences for your incredible presentations, and bring you all the beautiful gifts Glastonbury and Avalon have in store for you with grace and ease!
