Community, Cacao & the Marys Lifted Our Wings
What does it mean to set yourself at a new frequency of love, and how can you get there? Eighteen of us lusciously discovered much more about this at the Experience the Embodied Love & Bliss of the Marys retreat over the Oct 11, 2024, weekend at the beautiful Abode of the Message Sanctuary in New Lebanon, NY.
I’m writing here to share some of the energies (and images) from that retreat, as well as some suggestions, so that you, too, can commune more with love, whether you were with us or not!
In this sacred work, our priestess guardian Abergale Bremner prepared the luscious Cacao drink for our group ceremony both Saturday and Sunday mornings. We went in deeply to the realms of Love in two ceremonies. In the first one, we called upon Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene to healing our love wounds, enhance self-love, and open to receive more love:
In the second Cacao ceremony, we journeyed through the Seven Temples of love, exploring love in its various forms and working with the Marys to heal from any situations or relationships in which we experienced wounding giving or receiving Love. We were able to come to greater forgiveness than ever before and fortify ourselves with exquisite Love energies for our path forward:
In ceremonial space, we were able to share thoughts and insights we’d received in inspired and profound ways. Connecting in 3D reality was a blessed gift for all of us, who are so used to the online space now but feel isolated in the physical towns and locations where we live. Many women expressed gratitude in having found a living community to assuage these feelings of spiritual loneliness, and our “Love quotient” truly soared. This is only the beginning of what will be lasting friendships:
Our happy group, getting ready to go out on a Faerie excursion on the brilliantly sunny and comfortable Saturday afternoon:
The lake on the property where some of us sojourned:
Abergale and me, enchanted by a magical tree:
On the Sunday afternoon, Abergale led us in a beautiful experience of healing and sensual delights as we lovingly ministered to one another through touch, sound, fragrance, taste, and more:
I gifted the women with precious jewels that had absorbed all of our Love energies from our altar at the end of our time together:
The Abode’s courtyard with flowers taken from our altar on the drizzly Sunday after the retreat concluded:
Afterward, some of us lovingly released offerings from our altar Gaia at the magical labyrinth on the property. Mt. Lebanon, where the sanctuary is located, has been considered a sacred portal since the time of the Mohicans, the first peoples who tended the land, then later the Shakers who established community there, and then the Sufi order established there by Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan.
How to Raise Your Love Set Point
When I did my medicine life-changing ceremony two months ago, my guide Julie instructed me: Now go home and write down each piece of evidence that your life has shifted for the better, and that these changes are permanent. I’ve been making note of all such “evidence” daily, and knowing how powerful this practice is, I instructed the women of the retreat to mindfully observe and write down every instance that their new “Love Set Point” had raised up in subtle and dramatic ways. They’ve been writing in our our WhatsApp chat group will lots of examples of this, which has allowed all of us to keep this virtuous spiral going!
And so, for you… here are some suggestions for becoming more receptive to receiving and giving Love:
• Do something nice for yourself everyday, especially something to help you relax in a natural way (closing your eyes and doing deep breathing, softening your body, making sure you are eating nutritiously when your body gives you the signal, breathing in essential oils you love, etc).
• Sit with the Marys in meditation and ask them to help you open to the feeling of Love.
• Drink up the positive vibes of nature to feel the ecstasy of living that is your birthright.
• Engage things that open the heart: drinking Cacao, playing with animals or children, watching heartwarming movies, thinking on people or places or things or Masters or animals you love… the list is endless!
• Meet with friends more frequently. Be in an attitude of Love toward them, and express Love through words, gestures, unsolicited texts or letters or emails expressing your gratitude to them..
• Be mindful of where you are receiving Love in your life, AND of evidence that more Love is coming to you now that you are putting your attention on it. Write down your evidence!
These are just a few ways, and I hope that tuning into these suggestions as well as to the energy of Love conveyed from this sharing helps you, too, to keep your love sails lifted and billowing!
With love.

Love the alignments.. looks and sounds lovely.
I really love these suggestions. Especially about really not taking any of my friends for granted and really appreciating them and the love I experience from them and then I give them. I love the suggestion of making note of when love comes to me. I would never want to take that for granted. I’m just starting work on my second book which will be on self-love, oriented for those on a spiritual path. And I think that this emphasis on love with others is especially important! Thank you for sharing this
Sumaya, I love your comments here. And that’s wonderful about your next book!! PS, am really liking the FIRST one. 🙂
