Are You Free?

The Pause That Liberates

As we get ready to roll into the “Fourth of July” in the US, this brings up for me thoughts regarding lofty words like freedom and liberty.

Whether or not the US was really founded on those principles, I’m taking this moment to look into what they really mean in our lives, and how we can enhance them. Because they are sisters of sovereignty ~ meaning ultimate mastery of your own reality.

I’m inviting you to reflect: To what extent do you feel free? To what extent do you feel liberated? To what extent do you feel yourself to be sovereign in your own life?

Many of us are feeling burdened, tied, bogged down, stymied, constricted, and limited right now. And then… there’s being part of the Matrix. Eek.

But… knowing that most everything is illusory, how do we shift the illusion toward liberation?

Here are some fabulous ways to do so:

Step 1: Identify the micro and macro ways you ARE free and/or FEEL free. Free to be, free to do, free to shift, think, grow, expand, manifest. Write them down. Feel the wonder of this, the beauty! Amplify your gratitude for them.

Step 2: List five ways that you could enhance your freedom right now. Three small ways, and two larger. It could be just to drive a different route or change up your morning routine a little bit so as to release whatever dullness or shackles there are in that. It might be to dare to think about something you have been suppressing internally. Or maybe it has to do with taking that one step to bring more freshness into your life… More walks, more concerts. Maybe there’s a bigger step like finding that therapist to help you move out of a suffocating relationship.

Step 3: Commit to doing these five things this week.

As you know, like everything, freedom is an inside job. I’ve heard cases of people incarcerated, even for life, who have developed a deep quality of inner freedom. They are able to access the cosmos, and a personal sense of well-being, through their own inner planes. So many wonderful lessons to take from those examples!

The people who have had near death experiences and know for certain that there is no such thing as death I think are some of the most free people in the world. They are not bound by fears of dying, and therefore they can take bigger risks in their life, make life a playground.

If you knew you were an eternal being, how would you start turning your existence in this lifetime into more of a play field?

On the Fourth of July, wherever you are, whatever country you’re in, consider taking the pause to reflect on how you’re free and what you could do to feel more so ~ and experience the exhilaration of liberation.
